| | | More on the HBP key
We previously informed you that speculation had arisen due to the appearance of a key on a promotional banner for ' Half-Blood Prince' at Borders Bookstores.
A clearer picture of that key can be seen below.
The previous blurry photo can be seen here.

the handle is so intricate and detailed.. really fancy. it looks too fancy to be something for the DoM in my opinion (maybe they'd want something inconspicuous)..

Well, even if it is just a red herring or whatever, the advertisers are doing their jobs. I mean, two pages on a little key, that's pretty good publicity.
I like to think it does mean something, I doubt they'd put it up for no reason other than publicity.

Well, I think it looks heart like except for the little doodad on the top though it could not be reference to a key to a door at all but maybe symbolic as a key to defeating Voldemort or Harry finally unlocking his full potential as the powerful wizard he is so obviously destined to be.

Hey that's the key to the Chamber of Secret Sock Drawer...I was wondering where I'd lost that...
Seriously, I don't think it means anything. Why have a key underneath the bookstore names and not in the promotional image itself if it's important? And also not all bookstore displays have the key. If it was important, wouldn't it be on all of them? At least I don't think they're on there... I don't think the books-a-million one had one.

hehehehehe I was thinking the same thing. It'd be funny if it meant nothing other than to get us all completely focused on HBP and keep us drooling, itching, and on the edge of our seats. *is a very evil person

First, I`d like to say - it`s not clearer, it`s just bigger...not funny.
And that difference between handle and pattern.....K-Muggle definetely knows what says. But may be we`re just imagine too much?

It kind of looks like the key from the first HP movie. You know when Hagrid takes Harry to the Wizard Bank. And I also agree it does look like a heart with a tail.
