  More on GoF Filming -

Summary:
Some more filming took place during the week

Article:

Thanks to TLC

Quote:
Last week Mugglenet and HPANA reported that the HP GoF cast was seen filming the Portkey scene (where the Weasleys, Hermione, Harry and the Diggorys go to the Quidditch World Cup) near Berkhamsted in England.

Thank you for the many many e-mails. We waited on posting this because, like many similar tips that come unconfirmed to our inbox but never see this page, we wanted to check it out first, lest we send rabid HP fans tromping around woodland looking for Daniel Radcliffe.

So, here's what we can exclusively tell you: where the filming really is, who and what's in it, and when it'll be there next. Click below.

Filming on the Portkey scene appears in general to have been been slated for early morning, though it makes sense that there would be filming at dusk to simulate dawn light. While we do know a lot of filming went on at the studio at Leavesden last week, that doesn't mean the crew didn't tromp out there for some dusk shots of the Weasleys and Harry gonig to the QWC. Some of the actors are still underage, though, which makes night shooting after long days at Leavesden unlikely (though by no means impossible).

We have been able to confirm that there was filming in the area last week, and that this scene is actually being shot in Ashridge, a town in Hertfordshire, about 3.5 miles north of Berkhamsted.

There is more slated for this week (Update: most likely Thursday and Friday, since inclement weather postponed plans for filming there tomorrow. We remind that film schedules are by nature volatile, so it may change yet again). Some of this scene will also be shot at the Leavesden studio. It will feature Harry, Ron, Hermione, Mr. Weasley, Ginny, Fred, George, Amos Diggory and Cedric Diggory. The portkey is a boot, as it is in the book.

This area's woodland is renown, seen here at the Ashridge Estate and in Robert Stainforth's photography. In April and May, the woods at Ashbridge feature bluebells.

(And we know you'll all ask how we know, but all we can tell you is this comes from sources we trust who have never led us astray. It's as confirmed as humanly possible, or we would note otherwise.)

It is exciting news, and I am really pleased we will get to see the Porkey travel, I wonder how they will do it.... And don't anybody answer 'special effects' or I will beat you with my *stick*

It will be nice to see pictures soon too, hopefully they will release some by Christmas time, maybe around the time of the POA DVD release to get everyone ready for the next installment. What with GOF and HBP coming up next year things are looking good! :sorcerer:
Hehe, with special effects! *ducks for the stick* I hope it looks good, I wanna actually see Harry and co. spinning around, you know with feeling that his navel is being pulled forward?

I really wanna see some pics too!! It does look like from PoA DVD to the HBP being released it's gonna be Harry Potter magic madness!! :sorcerer:

Yes, I agree with you, seeing them spinning around would be interesting, considering they never showed the floo network at all, just the green flames....

Potter madness will hit exceptional levels come 2005! Whooo hoooo.

/\ I've heard it's going to come out 18th Nov next year! But, you know I'm not surprised by weather causing them to re-schedule, it's raining here as I type this! It's supposed to be summer, but no sun! :/

I'm happy that they've actually started filming these scenes first, then at least they will look older in other scenes, not like in CoS where Emma looked younger when she was making the Polyjuice Potion then in Diagon Alley!

I bet some avid fans will go out to Hertfordshire now, to try to get a glimpse of them filming!! If they do, send us some pics
yes so excited!! hoping for pics too. im an avid fan but it sucks, cuz, herfordshire is so far away from california lol.. IF ONLY I LIVED IN THE UK!! that'd be at LEAST better...

GOF is my favorite book; I can definitely say I’m glad that there is a new director. I wouldn’t want it to be so visual again, that the dialogue would suffer. In this one, the dialogue was soo important. I can’t wait to see the Voldie resurrection scene that’s gonna be great along with the third task. So far what I heard about it, even though production is still rather young, it seems to follow the cannon of the books pretty well.

Oh. GoF will rock. Mind you, I said the same thing about PoA, and it was less than satisfactory. I mean putting aside the fact that all the guys are so *gorgeous*, it really did not fallow that well with the books. They left out much too much, and the ending came someone in the middle. Maybe the new director will do a better job, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed because this book is way too amazing to be screwed up by the likes of him. I hope they include everything that's important in this one, and some other scenes that are not exactly important, but cool. I can only wish they include the scene where Harry goes into the Prefect's bathroom to work on the clue.. and he's all shirtless. *drools"
