| | | More 'Goblet of Fire' DVD reviews
The ' Goblet of Fire' DVD is reviewed in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. The magazine awards the disks with a B+ rating. The new issue will be out on Tuesday and the full review can be read here.
It has also been reviewed by E! Online [who also give it a B+] and IGN [who give it 9/10]. Quote:
The segment titled Reflections on the Fourth Film gives a surprisingly touching sense of the camaraderie among the young cast members: and a prolonged postproduction chat with Radcliffe (without glasses!), Emma Watson (wearing braces!), and Rupert Grint (shorter hair!) shows them to be both refreshing dorks and seasoned pros.
Quote:
On the other hand, performances from the younger set are a mixed-bag. The usually strong Emma Watson brings an awkwardly forced Hermione in Goblet of Fire. Many of her lines were bad to begin with - The melodramatic "I'm not an owl!" got laughs when I saw it in the theatre - and Watson's stolid delivery only makes them worse. Rather than evocative, many of her lines come off as whiny. Others have the same problem: Tom Felton, for example, continues to play Draco Malfoy as an over-the-top parody of the character in the book.
Furthermore, hardcore fans of the books might be disappointed on what was left out of the script. I, a more casual fan of the series, didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me, but a lot of the important back story on Harry's parents and their relationship with Professor Snape never made it into the movie. It doesn't kill the film, but it's a complaint I've heard from a lot of the fans.
Quote:
Overall, this is a seriously packed disc. The games are very brief, but the featurettes make for a couple hours of really interesting, fun footage. Fans will love the second disc, although the lack of a commentary or J.K. Rawlings interview might come as a disappointment to some.

some of the reviews is more on the film itself (which I believe we all have seen), that's a bit weird...

wow, thats really harsh, who cares if emma has braces and dan doesn't wear glasses, they are just kids, and I think both tom and emma did an excellent job portraying their characters, and the whole thing with the im not an owl, thats just showing how hermione is sick of being taken advantage of which is kind of how she gets in the books as well

I too didn't like Emma's lines...
Like when she told Harry and Rom to go to bed...That was stupid....when I saw the movie that made me pause.
I really want the DVD...
And it's true that many of the lines were cut........
The reviews may be harsh but then thats what they noticed...we're not the ones who review these things...they're telling the truth from them.........and if we did it...I'm sure a majority of us would say it's excellent and all that when maybe some of it is not..either way I loved the movie and I really want the DVD.

The reviewer doesn't really seem to extremely like GoF. But the DVD sounds packed with awesome stuff!

LOL! They misspelled J.K. Rowling with Rawling! And they left out the apostrophe in it too.

Well, i don't know... i think they do have a point. many of the things they said are true, and i for one, though it was my favorite HP movie to date, agree with them.

| Well, I agree with them on the Emma stuff, but Tom plays an excellent Draco. The DVD seems really cool though. I really can't wait to get hold of it. |
