Post Misprinted copies of 'Half-Blood Prince'

It's been reported that several copies of 'Half-Blood Prince' featured misprints including slanty writing, mis-prints on the book cover jacket and upside down text.

Quote:
A spokesman for Raincoast Books agreed that it's normal a few copies in a print run would have some faults, adding the company will exchange any defective copies of the Potter book.

Cool. I wish I had one. Those kinds of things are always collectible and fun to have.

to me some pages of mine look slanty but it could just be teh way i'm holding the book or it could be a misprint. Is it the same for the UK version?

I thought mine was looking like the writing was slanted or something, but I guess I was just tired from reading it for hours at a time.

Yeah, they definately are fun to have. The most I ever got was a type. Perry instead of Percy.

I think our U.S. version had a few typos, I know someone here mentioned them. Like once they wrote site instead of sight. It's okay though.
I agree it would be cool to have a misprinted one. Though I would be mad if it was my very first copy of it, because I read on Mugglenet that some were even missing pages.

Mines seemed okay. A bit of spotted paper, but nothing drastic. If i got a defective copy i would be a bit irritated. What if i couldn't read the words? I would have asked for an exchange right away! Glad i dont have to deal with that!

I noticed it. Mine had the exact same thing but I think it was because the character was mispronouncing Ron's name. But yes, I saw it too and thought it was strange!

I think it would stink to have gotten one of those books. I would have wanted to read it soooo bad and then not have been able to.

No way, I'd so sell mine on ebay if it was misprinted! I saw a copy with the cover on backwards on ebay and it was selling for like $70 Australian XD

Yeah... On some of my pages the text is smudged but i see that in books alot so its nothing special to me. If I got one of the ones with upside text that would be something to collect and not exchange for one that is fully fixed. I can still read mine so I don't care. Im guessing this hasn't been the first time for the Harry Potter series seing that just about every book that I have ever read has had at least one page that is a little messed up.

About the Ron and Rupert thing they were talking aobut something else at least thats what it seemed like. I think its just that people are use to knowing that Rupert plays Ron in the movies that when they saw the name Rupert in the book they automaticly thought that they were talking about Ron.

i dunno it might be a real mistake because who else can be harry's "poor friend rupert"? it says so in the book.

and i'd be frustrated if my book was misprinted or anything.. what if i couldn't read the book?

I noticed that too! I started laughing when I read it tehee

Having a misprinted book would be great just to keep, but if it was a huuuge mistake and I couldn't keep on reading I would get pretty annoyed. Like when OotP came out alot had major chapter errors, I would freak out lol

There was like a dot on the left hand side of one of my pages like an ink dot, I don't really care though nothing to get upset about.
