| | |  Miriam Margolyes talks Harry Potter
As we reported a few days ago, Miriam Margolyes, known for playing Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter movies, co-wrote and began acting in a one-woman-play called Dickens' Woman. She plays 23 different characters throughout the whole show, which is running at the Octagon Theatre from the 13th to the 17th of November.
Also, an interview was released, where Miriam talks about the play and also the Harry Potter movies. Quote:
"People say to me, 'Are you going to change it, write another story?' No, I've got nothing else to say. I'll be a knackered old dame when I'm through (with this tour) but I really want to do it. I love the show.
"I feel that literature is under threat at the moment. They're actually saying in England we shouldn't read Dickens in schools - it's too difficult, the syllabus has got to be dumbed down. I'm passionately opposed to that. Dickens is next to Shakespeare, in my opinion, as one of the greatest creators of characters that ever lived."
On mainly being known for acting in the Harry Potter series: Quote:
"It's rather depressing," she says. "I've only been in one Harry Potter film and I was just one of the other characters. I wasn't particularly distinguished in it."
