Dan Radcliffe has previously made some scathing remarks about McFly.
The boys from the band did some guest editing for The Mirror newspaper recently and in the process, responded to the remarks Dan made about them. Quote:
Bass player Dougie, 18, went for the jugular with Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe. "I've never met him but if I did I'd throw a bag of [censored] over his head.
"He's slagged us off in interviews - we've never met him, so I don't know where it's coming from," he added.
"He's going to be embarrassed when he does meet us."
Guitarist Tom chipped in with: "It's happened to us when we've slagged off people we haven't met and when we do meet them we just feel stupid - that's how we want him to feel.
"He said about us: 'I know bands who can actually play their instruments and who write their songs.' Well, we know actors who play more than one character. He's got his facts wrong."
We take it Daniel won't be buying McFly's latest single, the rocking Ultraviolet/Ballad Of PaulK then, which is out now...

Thats harsh.
I dont think Dan should say things about other people if he hasnt met them. If he has a bad opinions about their band then he should probably keep it to himself. Also, I dont think the band should've retaliated by saying bad things about Dan because, as they said: they have never met and its just going to cause a fight. |

i dunno...i mean McFly is a pretty awesome band for a pop punk, so what? i mean i looove dan and all, but i don't think he has the rights to critize them like that, just because their not his taste of music, it's kinda mean, what dan said about McFly. Let's hope that McFly anf Dan never meet. | |

Geez, I never heard any news about this conflict until now. McFly is a brilliant band, I saw them when I was in Dublin way back in March, and they're really nice and all.

Think about it from a musicians point of view. They felt pretty insulted by it, so the way they lashed out was normal. I won't let this one thing be the reason why I don't like Dan Radcliffe. I never liked him to begin with, but I won't start a big thing about it. He does tend to blabber about things, so it makes sense that he would just make the comment and not think about what he's saying. didn't hear about this before. i think it's kinda sad that they're trading insults about each other. like other people have said, it's only their opinion. of course, it's hard to accept that people believe that about you but you don't have to do the same thing to them. | |

I am not exactly Dan's biggest fan but its disturbing me why a lot of you are saying that he should 'keep his mouth shut' about this. Why would he? He's a huge music fan, so there's nothing wrong about expressing his opinion about different bands. Nothing wrong with McFly hitting back at Dan either, they got offended so it's natural for them to hit back. Not exactly the first time we've seen something like this. But I hope this would stop here. It's going to get old soon enough.

Celebs do this sort of thing all the time, and I'm sure we are all guilty of making these kinds of comments too. The difference is that Dan is under a microscope for being a celebrity, so all of those Rita Skeeters out there are keeping close tabs on every little thing he says and does. | |
