Matthew Lewis talks BBC's 'Happy Valley', Rupert Grint, 'Ripper Street' cancelled
Matthew Lewis promoted the current season of BBC One's drama Happy Valley, in which he portrays a rather dubious character currently imprisoned for a crime. More on actor's involvement on the currently-running series can be seen here.
Matt also commented on how Harry Potter costar Rupert Grint jokingly revealed that he put meals at a London restaurant on his tab, unbeknownst to him until Rupert told him at January's A Celebration of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando Resort.
Quote:
Matthew Lewis: 'I saw Rupert last month - and I’d not seen him for a few years.
'We were in Orlando together for the new Harry Potter Wizarding World thing and he told me that he’d been going to this restaurant.
'I said "oh that’s one of my favourite restaurants" and he said, "I know… because I’ve been putting all my food on your tab for the past several months!"
'Apparently when he came in the manager was like "oh you’re Matthew’s friend" and he was like "yeah" and [the manager] said "is Matthew picking this up?" and Rupert said "yeah, he told me to come down and said he was covering it" and it’s been going on my bill ever since.'
On a side note, season 5 of Ripper Street, the BBC and Amazon series Matthew is currently shooting (hence the mustache and sideburns), will be the final installment for the Victorian-era crime drama. It will be released through the online site sometime next year.
