It's a good thing that she lost. I wish that she would let it be. Just because she doesn't like Harry Potter doesn't mean that she has to try to stop everyone from reading it.

Will she ever stop and give up no I guess not if she is planning on taking her case to the federal courts, apparently she has lost every case she has brought it up with and this one will be no different. It will be same as all the others have been.

If she were to win.. and she hasnt and wont... then all forms of magic and witchery should be banned. um.. lets see that would have to go all the way back to shakespere? Disney? LOTR? etc...

Mrs. Mallory is a bit like Trelawney, I'll bet. She gets something right every once in a very long while, but mostly, she's just an arrogant crackpot.

I'm sure she means well, but if she really wanted to serve her children and God best, she would actually educate herself and not go off like an idiot.

edit: HP actually does express a notion of religion; Christianity! What it doesn't do is spoon feed religion (of any kind) to readers. She can prevent her own children from benefitting from HP's lessons in good, christian morals and values, but she has no right parenting the rest of the kids in her town/state/country/world.

I'm not a Christian, and even I say that Harry Potter isn't sacreligious - if anything, it's teaching millions of kids to read - surely that's a good thing?

This girl is crazy! Although I do think that schools need God I think they need Harry Potter to! Its an awesome book, and minus the magic and Voldomort, they go through he same things normal teens do!
Its a great way to look at life problems without them being shoved in your face!

I'm tired of hearing about this. No court in their right mind would rule in her favor. The jury probably reads the books themselves. She needs to give up, and simply ban her own children, because that's all she has the right to do. Those poor kids, though. They're missing out on some great FICTION. Fiction being the key word there!

This woman is so ignorant when it comes to what real witchcraft really is and what the difference is between witchcraft and satanism. There are BIG differences! She needs to read the histories of religion - all of them before trying to do to others what she says Harry Potter is trying to take away from her concept of freedom of religion! I feel sorry for her kids and I would be willing to bet that, unless the paranoid nutcase totally isolates her children, that they have already seen at least one movie and read more than one small paragraph of the book! Doesn't she know that I could take a perceived violent phrase out of the BIBLE and use it to say the book promotes evil???? We all know that's not true, just like we know it's not true of Harry Potter, but that's what these people try to do to sway others to their twisted and warped way of thinking!
