Popular British actor Dame Maggie Smith is to perform in
Wellington in May.

Dame Maggie, who won Oscars for the movies The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and California Suite, as well as nominations for four other films, will star in the Alan Bennett play Talking Heads. Her latest film roles include Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter movies. Dame Maggie will perform the play with actor Margaret Tyzack, who has also appeared in several TV series and
movies, including I Claudius and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

She was also in "Sister Act"! Im not sure if it was the first one or the second one! Thats like one of the oldest movies.... but she is a main character! Watch it! Its weird!

I know someone who was considered for the role of McGonogall, she's called Kate Duchane (she was Ms. Hardbroom in The Worst Witch) and she's my mum's best friend from school! She sends me a birthday card each year...

Delighted to hear that Dame Maggie Smith will be doing live performance of Talking Heads. She is an excellent Professor Minerva McGonagall - hope that she continues doing the role for the remainder of the films! :sorcerer:
