Sixth Sense film director M. Night Shyamalan, who, as
we told you last week, regrets turning down the chance to direct
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, said in
an interview yesterday that he’s eager to take the helm of the last HP film and already knows the type of feel he’d go for :
Quote:
I want to see a serious emotional conflict, like if Ron goes to the wrong side. Power has such a double-edged sword. I want the audience to feel that for a moment.
In reference to comments he made last week about the HP material needing to be "handed over, adoption papers and everything," Shyamalan explained to
TLC:
Quote:
I would be the greatest protector of an author's stuff. Especially things that I respect, that I know there's inherently magic in it. I would be very wary of screwing it up, so I would be very careful ... There's no way that it would be missed by lack of effort or lack of care or lack of attention. I would be giving it every single iota ... I would cherish it.
