Speaking about Professor Lupin, whom Steve Kloves describes as " Harry's extended family", the article continues:
Kloves says that when he first met Rowling, he told her he intuited that Lily "was quite special" and that James "was complicated." And in the bridge scene, Lupin "illuminates Harry about his mother - the most wonderful thing about her was that she was understanding toward Lupin at a time few were. She saw something special about him when others, including himself, couldn't." Kloves admits, "I think he was in love with her in many ways." |

| Tad bit pointless if you are not going to comment.
I always felt that James wouldn't have been the only one that had feelings for Lily, who would have thunk it was Lupin?

it did strike me on the bridge scene......
but i think in this case, it would have been hinted at in the books!
U never know with JKR though.

^ Ditto, and "she could see the beauty in someone when they couldn't see it in themselves" or summat like that.
Mind you, in OOtP (going by Snapes Worst Memory) I thought it was likely that Lily and Lupin dated - he seemed more her type than James at the start. They were both Prefects, so spent a lot of time together - plus Lupin was quiet and bookish, but as daring as his friends. He was the 'nice' one, and if that's what James became later on, then it would follow that Lily liked that type of guy.

I don't think Lupin loved her in a romantic way, but more of a very good friend. Steve Kloves has been putting stuff in the movie thats not in the books, and it confuses people. Now people who haven't read the book are going to think that Lupin was in love with her. I would think of Sirius of more of an extended family then Lupin.

I kinda got that feeling that Lupin had a thing or her too during the bridge scene. When he was talking about her it was more like he was saying to himself, not Harry. And JK did say that Cuaron put things in the movie that would play a role in the future books.

That's a pretty sketchy interview- sounds like JKR didn't really say that Lupin loved Lily at all.

That's what I thought when I saw the scene.
It would certinely make things a lot more complicated, wouldn't it?
I think they would be cute together, but... James. I wonder where he would come in...

Well, it makes sence. But I don't think that he loved her like James did.

The movie business isn't rubbish at all .. there doing there best to turn the book into a movie. And JK Rowling has MUCH to do with stuff being added to them. And how would you know that 50% of the viewers do not read the books, eh!?

I loved the bridge scene. I think it gave the hints that Jo was talking about but I don't think it was hinting that Remus was in love with Lily. Look at how Remus was describing Lily and then look at Hermione's reaction to him and others during the movie. Hermione rushes to Hagrid and tells him to get Malfoy to the hospital wing when he is hurt by Buckbeak even though Malfoy is awful to her. When she thinks Buckbeak has been killed she cries. She defends Crookshanks even though at first (when reading the book) everyone thinks the cat did it even Harry. In the movie when Reums turns into the werewolf instead of running from him at first she tries to help him. She puts others wellbeing before her own. Hence I think Hermione is Harry's twin sister and after Voldemort killed Lily and James she was adopted by the Grangers. I don't think Voldemort knew about her and since the prophecy was not about her they didn't feel she would need blood protection like Harry. Plus look at their names Harry/Hermione both begin with H like is common that the first letter of the twin's names are usually the same. Hermione wound up with James' unruly hair and his eyes and Lily's brains and heart. JUST A THEORY |

| Keeper of Mr Tennant's specs Never take what Kloves says as truth because look at what the man didi to POA.
however i do think that Lupin may have had a crush on her and Lilly not know that. James would have told him about Remus's condition mabey and she felt sorry for him and helped him to acsept his condition rather than fear it? who knows.
but if it were true i am sure it will be in Book 6&7 but u know JK.lol

Quite interesting. I merely saw it as him describing his friend.

The idea struck me as well, but then I thought; Sure, he could love her. Not in a romantic way, but as someone you trust, admire, and as a friend.
