| | | LotR fans petition for Peter Jackson to direct Deathly Hallows
A lot of Lord of the Rings fans love Harry Potter, and vice versa. What would happen if you took their director and mixed it with our Harry Potter films? Well, it seems that Lord of the Ring fans are anxious to see the result. In fact, a petition has been created in support of Peter Jackson helming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
It would be an interesting mix!
Thanks to the amazing SSer shortfry for sending in the tip! |

Don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars...My life is indebted to George Lucas for creating it...But Revenge of the Sith aside, the movies Lucas actually directed were the worst ones. Lucas would be a good producer or executive producer, but a good director, he is not. The Empire Strikes back had great direction, but it was Irvin Kershner, and Jedi had Richard P. Marquand...
Peter Jackson, however, is a great director, and despite the fact that I love Star Wars more than Lord of the Rings, the Rings movies were better than Lucas' s movies because Jackson is a much better director.
I'd kind of like to see Cuaron come back on board for the last one, although I'm sure Peter Jackson would do a fantastic job.

Honestly, I think it's the worst idea I've ever heard. I know he did a great job with LotR, but he just doesn't strike me as an HP guy. Didn't he already say "no," anyway? I think we should just leave him be. |

Wow, anyone but Peter Jackson please. LotR was good, but I don't want Deathly Hallows to look like a recreation of Middle-earth.

I doubt he'll do it.

Whoot! I love LOTR and HP. And Peter Jackson would be great because he understands that the fans matter, and he also is not afraid to make films long!

Well, HP is a completely different style and story from LOTR. IF Peter did do HP, it would be certainly be a change from the other HP movie AND LOTR. It would be epic which is a nice way to round out the series, but it doesn't match up. Besides, John Williams and Peter Jackson don't quite mix....
Peter has his own agenda down in New Zealand. I'm not sure he wants to jump on another series bandwagon.

I think Peter Jackson would do a great job directing Deathly Hallows but I don't see him doing it. Peter is an amazing director. He would certainly give the final Harry Potter movie enough time to sufficiently wrap up the story(Peter would probably break it up into 3 movies.lol). I myself LOVE the Lord of the Rings movies (and books) and I would love to see Peter do it but I won't hold my breath.

Ugh! No! He directed LOTR, it wouldn't be right if he did Harry Potter too. I personally dislike him and the series because it came out around the same time the first Harry Potter movies did, and they were competing, and I don't know about anyone else, but I got a lot of flak for being a Harry Potter fan and not solely an LOTR fan. Nope. I like the OotP director, though, I'd be thrilled if he did the seventh too.
