| | | Lockhart won't be in HBP or book 7 - A new Edinburgh Book Festival report Summary:
Another report written by a fan has arisen from the Edinburgh Book Festival. It is written by Chris (11) and Josh (9) Article: Lockhart won't be in HBP or book 7
Chris (11) and Josh (9) were two lucky fans who won tickets to go to the Edinburgh Book Festival where J.K.Rowling read and answered questions. When Chris had his book signed, he asked her two questions which, because they were asked on a one to one basis, were not featured in the transcript from the day which features on Jo Rowling's Official Site. HP4U has the story and the transcript can be found here. You have to scroll down on the news until you see it. Quote: JK Rowling even asked to see us last because she had been told about all the problems my Dad had had with his car (the engine blew up!) before we got to Edinburgh and said she would spend an extra 5 minutes with us at the end! - WOW Quote: I asked JK Rowling would Professor Lockhart get out of St Mungos, get his memory back and be in any of the next books?, she said no to all of these questions. Quote: I also asked when Harries parents were killed by Voldermort, Wormtail turned into a rat and pretended to be dead. How then did he give Voldermort his wand and robe back once he found him and helped give him back his body ?, she told me (after tapping her nose!) 'he hid them'. Quote: We also had our books signed, one of them is really special because its been signed by everyone that was in Prisoner of Azkaban like Daniel and Emma and now by JK Rowling too, I'm going to put it away forever. I also had some other really special things signed. When we left we were stopped by lots of people asking to buy our bags that we were given to put all our books in too!. We were also told that some fans and invitation holders to the event didnt get to be there as their train from Glasgow to Edinburgh broke down? Thanks to Chris for writing this and thanks to HP4U for the transcript! |

I'm a little bit dissapointed by Lockhart. I enjoyed his character. I wonder if this means that we won't get to see Neville's parents again.

Lockhart's more of a break from the constant darkness the books are becoming. But he's obviously not necessary

| Note to Self: When I'm one day lucky enough to meet JK Rowling, find a way to make my engine blow up on the drive over to see her.
Well, that explains Wormtail's wand - but, I wonder about the people who were in Azkaban... how did they get their wands back?
And, I'm rather bummed out about Lockhart not being in the next books, I think he's pretty funny now that he's out of his mind. I love his bit about learning 'joined-up writing'. lol

I dont think there's any point for Lockhart to be there anyway 'cause he got nocked out in COS and he has no more memory,so there's no point. :sorcerer:

oh, well...he was annoying. i'm glad he was in cos and everything, but his time to shine is over. and the only reason he was in ootp was so the trio would see nellive and his parents.

I didnt think that Jo would find it necesarry to include him in the remaining books- theres much too much going on isnt there? I feel awful for those ticket holders whos train broke down. Its rotten luck. i hope she includes Tonks a bunch in the next book. Her character was wicked! i thought she was very amusing and funny- I also want to know what happens with Hermione-Krum-and Ron!!!! I can hardly wait.

I'm not really sorry never to see Lockhart again, he was too self oriented, and he was an awful teacher. I can't even believe she brought him back in OOtP. Of course he had a very small part, and was only there so that they could meet the Longbottoms.
