Well, though she's never read the books herself, I can understand why she's afraid, I guess. Just remember that she's trying to protect her children. Personally, I wish she'd read the novels first, then judge, and not try to take them out of schools. They make kids want to read!

I think this woman needs to read the books. She's only doing whats' right for her kids - in her opinion, but her own stupidity is astounding.

This woman is sooo very stupid. If harry Potter was really bad don't you think they would already be out the school? It just common sense.

I also live nearby, and I agree that she should have read the novels beforehand because all the themes that could be considered "evil" are clearly outweighed by all the good themes.

Also, since she is the legal guardian of her children, she can stop her kids from reading the series, but she has no right to take the novels out of the schools to stop other kids from reading them. And besides, if the kid really wants to read it, he or she will, no matter what. Actually, banning it might cause kids to rebel a bit and read it just to spite their parents.

But, if she really wants to make that much of a fool of herself for banning books she hasn't even taken the chance to read, it's her fault. I feel as if I have to thank her, though. Not for trying to ban the books, but for giving me a really good basis to relate into an essay I had to write on censorship.

I don't know how old these women's kids are, but, unless she does them irreparable harm by not letting them think for themselves and they turn into mindless zombies worse than Voldemort and his Death Eaters could ever be, they will find a way to read them simply because of all the fuss their mother is making...then, they will tell her themselves that she is a bigoted, ignorant clown!!!!!!
