Junior Screenwriters - New York Paper mentions Potter Project

Summary:
"The next Harry Potter plot has been scripted by 5,000 kids on the Internet."

Article:

Looks like the media is finally picking up on the Potter Project, and starting to spread the buzz:

Quote:
The next Harry Potter plot has been scripted by 5,000 kids on the Internet.

My2Centences, a small Tribeca-based entertainment firm, has developed a trademarked online technology called FanLib that allows fans to collaborate on their favorite books, movies, and TV shows.

The goal is to get the attention of major media companies looking for new ways to tap their fan base.

While Fanlib has yet to sign a big deal, it's hoping to grab attention with a Harry Potter contest that invites fans of the boy wizard to script their own adventure through popular Potter fan site SnitchSeeker.com. So far, 5,000 participants have logged on.*

'Finally kids are doing something online that's constructive,' said FanLib creator David Williams.

I know, that's pretty funny!

I guess they figure Harry Potter is just for kids.

Little do they know...

Seeing the word kids there doesn't bother me. For those who are older than me, you were a kid once. What are you doing now? You're on a website in which there is a high population of kids. And you (hopefully) are having fun, so it shouldn't matter to you whether or not they say kids or adults. It's based for the general public. If an adult is interested, so be it. It is nice to know some adults enjoy doing things in environments in which kids around, and everyone gets along happily. Be proud you can get along with kids and that nobody here minds how old you are. Age is nothing but a number and in the end we're all the same. Although it would've been nice having adults mentioned, so that everyone would know it's not just aimed at kids. But that's just news for you, and that's how it is unfortunately.

That's just my opinion though.

I dont think that it should matter what they say in the paper as long as you enjoy what you are doing.

Hey, it's not like ... "kids" ONLY play online. I, for example, (not sure if I qualify for "kidness") bloody well go to SCHOOL online. I take courses over the net. I come to site like this for a chance to unwind from other "constructive" things I do. My parents etc. keep telling me, in fact, that my hobbies- such as "constructive" scene writing- destract me from my "work" and that I ought to be more focused. Who do this people think their kidding? It sounds like they didn't take a look at the progect before writing. Kind of like a critic writing his review on the way to the theatre. Distressing really!
