| | |  Julie Walters talks Mrs Weasley & the Harry Potter kids
In a new interview with the Daily Record, Julie Walters, aka Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter films, has told how she once feared for her character's life. Quote:
"A story went around not so long ago that I was an avid reader of the Harry Potter books, and that I rushed to the bookshop every time a new one appeared on the shelves. Well, it's not quite true.
"What happened was that someone once spotted me rifling through the new book at a store - know what had happened? I'd heard the rumour that one of the characters was going to be killed off by JK Rowling, and I was just checking on my insurance.
"I came to the words 'Mrs Weasley', realised that she wasn't the one who died and felt very relieved as a result. The work goes on."
"Someone said to me recently that, as Mrs Weasley, I seemed to shout a lot. I said to them 'Look, if you were the mother of all those boys, and you lived in a house like that, you would shout a lot too. You would have to shout just to make yourself heard'."
Julie also speaks about her experience working with Rupert Grint on ' Driving Lessons'. Quote:
Julie describes Rupert as "a very fine actor", adding: "He has great comic timing, and a terrific screen presence as well as a marvellous sense of humour.
"I love the time that I'm in his company. He is a terrible giggler. He sees or hears something funny, and he's away. I see his shoulders start to twitch and I'm off too.
"But he's grown up so much in the last few years."
Additionally, she relays a tale from the ' Philosopher's Stone' premiere. Quote:
"At the premiere of the first Harry Potter film, my husband Grant turned to me, pointed at the three young stars, and said 'Look at them, poor things'.
"They were on the red carpet, there were camera flashes going off all over the place, and they were just kids. Grant said 'They look like three little rabbits, caught in the headlights of an on coming car'.
"A few years on and they now have assurance and poise. But not in that sort of pushy 'look at me' way."
The article also says that Julie is to start filming for ' Order of the Phoenix' soon. The interview goes on to talk about her other projects, including ' The Ruby In The Smoke' (in which she stars alongside Billie Piper), ' Becoming Jane' and her newest novel, Maggie's Tree - which is about three British performers living in New York.  | |

That's so true. My mom has to handle three daughters and she's all shouty. I can't imagine her to be calm with all those Weasley boys around.

Cool interview! I mean, if I was an actress in the movies and I hear JKR was killing someone off, I'd be rushing around finding out who it is and see if my character was safe. But, as I am an avid reader of the books, I'd find out one way or another.
I think Rupert is a fine actor, as well. Fine, meaning both excellent and acting and easy on the eyes. *swoon* :] But, still. He is one heck of a actor for his age.
It's mind-blowing to have been seeing Dan, Rupert, and Emma as children since 2001 when SS/PS hit theatres to now with the aftermath of GoF and the current filming of OotP only to find them to be matured into lovely young adults. It's pretty cool. :]

It's good to hear from the other actors as to the growth of the trio, and I am quite sure all of the young actors. It is amazing to see them trying other things and still trying to be teenagers.

I love her. Seriously. And what she says about Rupert, coming from her is such a compliment. He is pretty fantastic though. I'd love to see both of them lose it in a fit of giggles!!!

Though if I were in the Harry Potter films i would read the books just to know what was coming and to understand my character better.

Excellent interview! I agree with Julie Walters on Rupert. Despite his young age, he's a fine actor. Lots of skill, lots of potential. And I can't wait for 'Driving Lessons' and 'Order of the Phoenix' to hit theatres!
