In a brief new interview Julie Walters, who plays Mrs. Weasley in the Harry Potter films, admits that she isn't a fan of the books but does like to keep up to speed with her character. Quote:
"The funny thing was that a rumour went around once that I was an avid reader of the Harry Potter books and that I was always first in the queue when they came out.
"Not the case, I'm afraid. Someone caught me thumbing through one on a bookstand and all I was doing - I admit it - was checking whether or not JK Rowling, the author, had written my character out!
"It was pure self-interest. I got to the magic words 'Mrs Weasley', realised I wasn't going to be the impending corpse and put the book back on the shelf."

of course, she has an important part (but not a huge role) in the series - although the final battle scene will be excellent! that said i doubt she could pay the bills based on her HP work alone!
it's a little annoying how some headline have claimed she "hates" HP just because she's not a HP tragic (like most SS members!). Jim Broadbent (Slughorn) put it best that HP wasn't really of his "generation", Julie's probably the same?!

Like with Jim, her role isn't central, so it isn't really vital that she reads the books avidly. | |

Julie is a great actress, I had seen on tv a while ago a movie she was in . It was about a group of ladies who raised money for a cure for cancer. they posed for a calender. I can't remember the name of the movie.. But Julie was great.. I did not realize it was her until after the movie. I am so used to seeing her as Molly Weasley. | |
