[img]http://www.snitchseeker.com/images/news/blotts_80.jpg' align='middle'> Julie Walters named TV's ultimate Drama Queen - Molly Weasley actress receives honor Summary:
The Scotsman reports that the big name star has come top of the list of Drama Kings/Queens in the UK. Article: Julie Walters named TV's ultimate Drama Queen Julie Walters (Mrs. Weasley in the Harry Potter films) has been named the most powerful figure in television drama. Ray Winstone, James Nesbitt and Dame Helen Mirren were some others who were on the list, but the judges said that Walters was the "top of the heap." Quote: A panel of industry experts voted Walters “top of the heap”. Quote: Films such as Calendar Girls, Billy Elliot, Educating Rita and the Harry Potter movies have sealed her reputation as one of Britain’s finest acting talents. Quote: “Her track record of success across different channels is all the more remarkable for being combined with a buoyant film career, which guarantees her position as an above-the-title name who can deliver critical acclaim and ratings success,” the magazine said. Quote: Jane Tranter, controller of drama commissioning for the BBC, said of Walters: “Apart from her extraordinary skill and craft, she has the ability to represent all of us, no matter what the age, class or situation of her role.” Quote: “We’ve taken the view that any actor in a soap derives their power from the programme until they prove themselves elsewhere,” the magazine said.
“The actors who make this list reflect the considerable depth of talent that exists in this country... encouragingly, appearing in a soap and drinking at London’s Met Bar doesn’t seem to matter quite as much as it once did.” Source: The Scotsman/The Radio Times via Veritaserum. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Remus James Lupin (RJ) Second Year | Gryfflepuff Great News about Mrs. Weasley, Julie Waters. I love her as the head of the brood of redheaded Weasley bunch. She's so good at it! I hope her scenes from GoF don't get cut. I want to see her "Accio" all the toffees from Fred and George as they leave for the World Cup. Go Lions

| Great, I saw her honoured earlier this year, although I can't remember what for, by other actors and friends. She is one of my favourite actresses. I especially loved her when she worked with Victoria Wood as 'Mrs Overall' in Acorn Antiques and as the horrendous mother in 'Dinnerladies', she had me in stitches in that role.

Julie aka Mrs Weasley is basically being named the best British TV Drama actress. She does soap operas? I never heard of her before she was on HP. There isn't a single one of those actors in the films who are popular where I live.

Yes, Well it doesn't surprise me, the woman is an amazing talent and will remain on the list as one of the legendary british female actresses along with the best, like Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench and Julie Andrews. We simply have the best actresses in the world! Gosh, I did sound really pompous then, but hey WTH, I'm proud! |
