| | | John Malkovich as Lord Voldemort? Article:
I was watching the TV Guide Channel and the guy was talking to Dan or Rupert and on the bottom it says that John Malkovich will portray the evil "Lord Voldemort". So i guess we now have our Lord Voldemort! :sorcerer: Dumbledore edit: This is yet to be confirmed, and since John Malcovich is American, this seems highly unlikely. Still, take this with a grain of salt until we can confirm either way. |

Hmmm. It said that John Malkovich was Voldemort in a magazine my sister bought yesterday too. I don't know whether to believe it or not.
I still think Jeremy Irons would be the best Voldemort. |

I wonder why they haven't just taken him. Maybe they tried and he said no.

So what happened to not casting American born actors? Granted, he could be a creepy Voldemort though.

They already said it wasn't going to happen and I think they should just stick with Ralph Fiennes. He was a fine choice! No John Malkovich!!!

I am American none the less the thrilling and enjoying excitment would not be in the movie if I heard my own acsent in the movie. I like the british and english accsent and I wish that it stay that way.
Who ever does it needs to have the cold chilling terrifying voice and still act. But, in the end. The best is yet to come. |

Even if the rumour is untrue or not, I think John Malkovich would do a great job playing Voldemort, he's a very accomplished actor and this could be a real challenge for him. So what if he's not British, that's the whole point of proving yourself as an actor. Renee Zellweger played Bridget Jone's who is a british literary character and did a seamless job. I think the thought of John doing the part has potential.

I think the thought of John doing the part has potential. Renee's accent was very badly faked. Or so in my opinion and I'm a brit. Whenever I've heard an actor "fake it" it's been awful so I do agree with the sticking the the Brit thing. After all, so many have this silly impression that all brits sound like they have a plum in they're mouth when the different dialects ensure that we dont.

ive heard so many rumours about who will play lord voldemort.
but john malkovic would actually be really good in that role.
cause he plays a great villian and hes a great actor who could pull it off.

as long as it's not hugh grant. he's more of a guy for chick flicks. Heh, I heard that they almost considered Mr. Grant for Lockhart but either he gave it up or they passed him over because he was too "A-List" I think it was him, because he didn't want to overshadow the films themselves.
Although I think John Malkovich could play a decent Voldemort, lets keep it with the Brits!

I actually wrote something about John Malkovich playing Voldemort in another topic. I forget which one it was, but I wish I would remember. Anyway, I think that John Malkovich would play a decent Voldemort. He's played so many horrid characters, that I think he would be able to tap into the evilness of the character pretty easily. He's played a lot of evil and offbeat characters, so it wouldn't be too difficult for him. I know he's American, but if he can pull off an English accent and they think he's right for the job, then I say we should just accept it. After all, how many times did people say that David Thewlis was the wrong Lupin, because he didn't look like him at all? But now that the movie is out, we see that Thewlis captured the spirit of Lupin completely. So maybe Malkovich doesn't seem like the right Voldemort, but he could capture the spirit of him perfectly.

I still think Jeremy Irons would be the best Voldemort. OMG, Jeremy Irons would be awesome!!!
I'm still backing Ralph Fiennes on this one, JM is American and even though he would probably play the part really well, I don't know if JK would actually be best pleased with the idea. But I have a feeling she is getting alot of stick these days about being anti-american (Even though she isn't!) she may just surprise us and change her mind, but until this is confirmed I'm sticking to "RUMOUR"
