| | |  JK's cousin is officially Potty!
Ben Rowling, cousin to J.K.Rowling, went on the 'Lie Detector' show last night, aiming to prove he was the inspiration for Harry Potter.
The test revealed that he believed he was telling the truth.
He also claimed that he wasn't persuing the issue for the fame or for any money (*cough* YEAH RIGHT! *cough*) but just for the recognition.
The test results only proved that he believes he was the inspiration for the character and not that he is ever was or is.
I'm sure I don't have to say this, but it's much more likely that the author herself, Jo, is telling the truth, as she has reitterated, time and time again. Quote:
Harry is not based on any of the men I have met during my lifetime who wore glasses, or any of the boys who had a scar somewhere on their face, or any of my friends who went to boarding school.
One good thing did come from the show. A few new pictures from Jo Rowling's childhood were shown, that we've never seen before.

If someone tells themselves enough what they think is the truth.. then to them it IS the truth. People can outsmart lie detector tests easily. I think he's a doof! What a mooch... My sister and I look alike (twins) but if she was in a movie or wrote a book about a girl who looked like us, I wouldn't say it was me! Geez.. Seriously. Der hur... Cho looks like this girl in my math class.. der she should get some recognition.. der! Ok.. I'm done kicking the mickey out of that mustard seed.

I don't understand exactly WHAT he has in common with Harry Potter. Is he magic? Were his parents killed when he was a baby? Did he grow up with cruel relatives? What?

Lie detectors are so faultly though... for instance, if he believed he was telling the truth, it might have registered like so on the test. I think this guy is just after fame/money.

I think all people knowing someone who writes (books, poems, lyrics of songs...) are searching themselves from their texts. Itīs quite natural. When I had a man who was in a band, there were some lyrics he wrote which I thought might have been about me... I never dared to ask, though, and I believe I wouldnīt have gone bragging about the thing, had he and those songs become famous.
So I think this cousin is ... rather stupid. Poor J.K., you cannot choose your relatives.

I think he's doing this just to become famous. The only thing he has in common with Harry Potter is that he has dark hair, and can wear glasses. He has no clue that he was the one J.K. was writing about, and he probably isn't. Sorry to burst his bubble, but J.K. is probably telling the truth about this one.

Blah, I still don't believe him.
Anyway, Lie Detectors DONT work the way you think. They don't really tell if someone is telling the truth. They basically say if you are relaxed or not.
