J.K. Rowling has updated the Diary section of her site with her progress on Book Seven! Quote:
This always happens. I make a plan, it looks nice and neat, then I get to actually write the book and realise that Harry can't possibly do all that in just one chapter. So what I thought were going to be two chapters have now become four. I still don't think the book will be as long as 'Phoenix', but if that keeps happening... no, it won't. I'm looking at the plan, and it can't. Surely. Please.

Oh goodies ...I'd tell her a secret anyday! She keeps things so hushed up (which is not fair :pouts: ) but is necessary. I love to read so if the book was longer than OoTP I wouldnt mind. As long as it isn't different (like I thought HBP was a little different from how she wrote the other 5) and isn't shorter than CoS.

I actually want the book to be longer than Book 5. Come on, it's the last of the series anyways. Why not make it the heaviest book, filled with all the information that would close everything?

i cant wait till the 7th book comes out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope its not too depressing... plus im already going to feel sad, because it will be the last book.. then.. no more "waiting for the next harry potter book to come out"... its gonna be sad and hard to get used to...
