| | | JK's sketches of Hogwarts from the PoA DVD
Dumbledore took two screen captures of a map of Hogwarts and the grounds sketched by JKRowling from the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD.
The two images can be seen in our Gallery here (close-up) and here (full shot).

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | I never imagined the castle right next to the lake but it's her vision so I'll accept what she's drawn. *nods* |

| | | It's alot like what I've imagined. Although, I always thought of the Quidditch pitch being a bit farther from the school, more to the Northwest, you know? | |

| Whoa everything above the castle was switched in my head. This is going to be weird, having to adjust my mental picture next time I read the books..
Oh and I just noticed that she labeled the lake as "loch." Tres cool.

| Very interesting news!
It's great to see how JK pictures Hogwarts to look. It's different than I'd imagined, but I'm sure her version is right. lol.
I whiped out my magnifying glass... no graveyard to be found. *sigh* |

| Cool. Difficult to read tho. Hopefully its clearer on the dvd.
I always imagined the lake being between the castle and Hogsmeade, sorta off to one side. On that map, how would the boats work? The first years get off the train at Hogsmeade Station and take boats to the castle, which is when they get their first glance of the castle.
*Shrugs* Ah well. If this is what JK imagines, then I guess this is what it is |

*Shrugs* Ah well. If this is what JK imagines, then I guess this is what it is | But if you see, below the lake, there is the railways line. And there are the little boats waiting, so it fits perfectly with what the film looks like and Jk's description.
Pictured Hagrids hut in different place, but just figured that the whole top bit is sort of switched over in my eyes. Really interesting to see her view though. She's gotta do some reference book or something about writing thie books after Book 7. Just the ultimate book companion or something. |
