 Is This A Possible Release Date For HBP? - possible release date for HPB Summary:
A visitor to a Harry Potter has sent a picture of the door on JK's site as being open revealing a release date. Article:
A Dark Mark visitor, Ty, sent a picture of JK Rowling's open door bearing a release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. His e-mail was dated August 2 2004.
The image reads that things in the mirror may appear closer than they actually are. The date in the mirror is 2005. So maybe this means that whatever time we're thinking of or are discussing on HP sites is too early (that explains the 'closer than they actually are' comment). Remember, Jo DOES surf HP websites so she would know what rumors and idealistic dates fans might be toying with online so this message might be a hint that our ideas for release dates may be too soon. This is NOT about when it will be released but more about when it WONT be released. The message conveyed is that 2005, the date/information in the mirror, is 'too soon' - it (the date) appears to be closer than it actually is. Meaning, in lamens terms, it wont be any time soon and certainly not any time near the begginning of 2005
The wording is tricky but basically the message means that 2005 appears close, therefore making the release date appear closer than it actually is.
The message reads: Quote: Objects in mirror may appear closer than they actually are. (It says 2005 in the mirror) Click here to view the image.

I would bet it's another hoax.. Jo just closed the door, and why would only one fan be able to see it, but it's still an interesting bit of news.
If it is true, I don't know how to feel about it... I didn't think it would be released this year, so I'm not upset, but that makes it seem like it's very far off. And, I definitely cannot wait until 2006!

^ I'm glad to see someone got the knack of the message! If it is true, it means HBP probably wont appear in 2005.
The logic and explanation of what the message means has been edited into the article as I know some people will not even bother to read properly and just assume she's saying it will be out in 2005 when in fact she's stating the opposite. That's if this is true, of course.

It looks quite real, how JK would do something. I hope it isn't a rumour but if it is well done to whoever created this, 'cos it really is something that JK would do, looks real enough...but again, why would only this person see it?

They've done it before and they could do it again. At the time that this message was received the door was firmly shut so hacking could've been possible.

It looks very real. It is very odd how no one else has seen the door open but i just looked at Jo's site in comparrison to what is shown and all the details look exactly the same. Very exiting news (desperately hope it's real)

It may look amazingly real but i dont know i mean no one else saw it and it wouldnt exactly be hard to copy the stile of writing, pictures and the paper that she uses on her site would it?
but saying that i kind of hope it is a wee bit true i am really looking forward to HBP
But if i got a pound for everytime that someone said it was going to be realesed i would be so rich now lol

I'm pretty sure JKR said something along the lines of no baby related interruptions or delays. Now birth is a pretty big interruption to anything so I'm guessing she hopes to have book 6 done before she pushes the squealer out. She got pregnant before June so that means we've got under (counts on fingers) 5 months-ish before HBP.

oh and to be on topic I think this is is a big hoaxy pot of cow poo.

/\ That is a very good point. The company will want to make money and use the great HP vibes that are around at the moment. Maybe, after the hype of PoA DVD and before the real hype of the GoF film that's when HBP will be released. Maybe April or May next year? Sigh, by the way Ooberu that was really good, I'm thinking that the mirror thing was a fake after all!
