Well the thing is, I wasn't allowed to tell anybody. I was literally told; right, you've got this amazing part you're not allowed tell anybody apart from your mum and you've got to keep it a secret because we're going to do this huge kind of press release in a few weeks and basically if you tell anybody then you've got a huge chance of losing the part. Ya know, it was a ransom - if I told anyone, I was going to get it taken away. I went into a strange period of paranoia, kind of walking around thinking 'have I got this part?' 'did I get that call?' 'am I imagining this?' It was really weird, and so I only told my mum and we had to keep it secret for so long and then I didn't start filming for months! So I was kind of in turmoil thinking 'did this actually happen? Am I actually going to start filming'. And you know, it was the weirdest thing ever.

On the first day I remember sitting in the canteen in the morning and being alone and hundreds and hundreds of people work there every day and I was a little overwhelmed. Very quickly it was clear that everybody was really down to earth and really normal - which I didn't think they would be. I thought they would be nightmares but they weren't, they were so sweet and so welcoming and it was just the nicest kind of job I've ever done.

Tell us a little bit about the part of Lavender Brown - what's she like?

Well she's.. Lavender Brown is the rather sprightly, over zealous, over affectionate girlfriend of Ron Weasley. Actually she's his first girlfriend - his first experience with the other sex. Not a very good pick of first girlfriend, really, because she is just totally obsessed with him and in love with him and wants to follow him around like a little puppy dog the entire time which can be rather annoying to everybody. She is just not very good at how she is being perceived and doesn't have a clue really about what's going on outside of her world, with her obsession with Ron, which kind of ends in tears



But what a brilliant part to play - I know that, I was that person!

Yes! I was that person! No, I was that person too and it's funny because I think at that age, you do become so obsessed with boys and it is just traumatic when it doesn't work out for you. And most of the time it is unrequited , on my part. So it is devastating when they don't work out, so I do feel her pain.
