MTV Movies has an entertaintment segment in which they quote Jason Isaacs talking about the Harry Potter franchise and his character in the films, Lucius Malfoy. Quote:
The sinister grin of Jason Isaacs undoubtedly haunts the nightmares of children and adults alike, thanks to his role as Lucius Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" series. To remain in character, the actor has even gone so far as to avoid answering his fan letters.
"I'm carefully cultivating an entire generation of people who despise me, because when you're in 'Harry Potter' films you get a lot of fan mail ... I haven't answered any of it, so they will hate me even more than they did to start with. They probably spent their pocket money sending me a stamped, addressed envelope."
The British actor recently insisted that while he's enjoyed developing the character, the real payoff will come in the next few films.
"Number four is finished. I'm not signed up for number five; I haven't got a script for [it] yet, but I understand I have some things to do in the book and, if they ask me, then I would be hoping to be in it. Because that is good fun, it's ridiculously good fun to dress up as a wizard ...
I hope that [JK Rowling] writes it until Harry Potter is 65 years old and on a walking frame."

Well, it's good to hear he's having fun. And he's doing a mighty good job being evil too! He is, and always will be, the face of Lucius as we read (and reread) all the books... Hopefully he gets signed up for OotP...

Yea don't we all. He'll probably still be fighting the fources of evil till then. Its wonderful to see that he really loves working on the films. He is great. I think l.Malfoy is great! I also think Snape is cool. I better now write a letter to Jason then

I am a bit confused actually.  Does he really need to behave like that?

It's great that he likes playing Lucius. I find it funny that he actually seems to want people to hate him. I do hope that Jo keeps writing HP. It would be great.

It sounds extreme. I agree. but hey, at least he is staying true to his character. I think its a nice change to see an actor who is actually quite attached to the character he portrays (even after he finishes his filming )

Its been a bitter releationship between the both of them since CoS! Harry stopped Lucius from getting Voldy back to life (in CoS) and then in OOTP, Harry stopped Lucius from getting the prophecy. | |

I think he's probably not answering it because he's too busy, not out of spite. He's not spiteful. It's probably a joke more than anything else.
The DoM is an important set of scenes, it's the climax of the book. I'm sure he'll be asked to return.
