Jason Isaacs talks end of Lucius Malfoy's story in Deathly Hallows
While promoting his feature Green Zone, which was released this weekend, actor Jason Isaacs spoke about a particular decision he and Harry Potter director David Yates made in regards to how to end Lucius Malfoy's story in Deathly Hallows. As a result of making said decision, which Jason didn't go into detail about, he lost about three extra months of filming (up until this March) as Lucius would no longer be required. Jason also praised Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and especially on-screen son Tom Felton on keeping grounded and becoming "good young people" who are "unfailingly polite."
Jason did note that while he is still trying to get Lucius Malfoy's wig as a keepsake, he did get to keep one of Lucius's snake-headed canes.
The full interview can be heard below (Jason's full segment can be listened to on BBC Radio 2 here, starting at 2:00 hours in).
If they kill him I will be VERY upset! I hope they don't change it too much. And I think that it is really funny that he keeps trying to keep the wig! I can just imagine him showing up at the set and them being like
"No Jason."
"But --"
"We said NO."
"Darn it!"

I don't think he meant that Lucius would be killed (they wouldn't defy canon THAT much), but maybe show him in a difference place or state of mind at the end of the battle?
This definitely puts a twist in things. It wouldn't surprise me if Voldemort does kill Lucius in the film simply to better show the transition of Draco to the good side to help Harry later. It's barely noticeable in the books. Don't want it to be true but it would definitely put Draco and Harry more on equal footing if Voldemort did kill both of their fathers.
That said... I REALLY HOPE I'M WRONG!

Although it's quite conceivable that Lucius might be killed by Bellatrix or Voldemort after "Harry" escapes from Malfoy Manor. This would certainly heighten Narcissa's concern for Draco's survival when she checks Harry in the forest?
:O Ahhh!!! What are they doing to Lucius in DH??? Hopefully nothing bad...I swear, if it's something like, kill him....I mean, it wasn't even in the book! Ah, anyway, if I were him, I would want to keep the wig too. xD at least he got to keep one of the canes. I would love to have one of those, they're so cool!
I doubt they're going to kill him. My best guess is they've decided to have Lucius walk out on Voldemort or something, sending him into hiding during the Battle. Then as the Battle's winding down, Lucius returns and is reunited with Narcissa and Draco. That seems to make the most sense to me.
Killin off malfoy snr would compleatly ruin the story of the malfoys there supposed to fear the dark lord not want revenge on him. But I wouldn't put it past the big shots to do something like that given how they ruined DH

nice but i still want to see him in DH! but of course he will be there...he and his family plays a crucial role in DH...but what happens after war?i guess we will have to wait for that...
Hah! Jason is funny and, of course, a sweetheart... or gentleman, whichever you prefer. I didn't know he was in Green Zone! Maybe that's a reason for me to see it now.
I doubt Jason would suggest killing him, he's a fan of the books and knows the fans will be really upset.. It would mostly be something that was being hinted in the book that Jason thought of and extended on.
