| | | Jarvis Cocker in GoF cameo appearance? The Sun is now reporting that aswell as co-writing music for GoF with Franz Ferdinand, former Pulp frontman, Jarvis Cocker, will also make a cameo appearance in the fim.
Interestingly, The Sun has done a mock up image of what Jarvis might look like dressed up as Harry. Quote:
But new Potter director MIKE NEWELL wanted to make sure his movie appealed more to a generation of music-mad teens.
He asked DANIEL RADCLIFFE and the other young stars to draw up a shortlist of candidates. Jarvis bagged the job because of his reputation and professionalism.
Quote:
Jarvis will be responsible for picking additional music for the film and has already chosen FRANZ FERDINAND to appear and write a track.
A source at movie giants Warner Bros tells me: “Everyone here is really excited about Jarvis being involved in Goblet Of Fire.
“He is a very talented musician who is a big fan of movies and knows exactly how they work. You may just think Jarvis is the bloke in specs who fronted Pulp but he is a man with many hidden depths.”
Quote:
He studied film at Central St Martin’s in London and once said: “I think I’ll end up as a film-maker eventually. It’s just a question of when. You always wish that people you like knew when to give up, but they never do.”
However, this contradicts news announced by the John Williams Fan Network which stated that Patrick Doyle would be composing the soundtrack for GoF.

Jarvis Cocker would do an excellent soundtrack I think, but this obviously means a turn in the music style for HP. Is it just for the Weird Sister's at the Yule Ball? I hope so.

If this isn't only for the "weird sisters" part of the film... I will be very unhappy! They might as well change all the actors and sets while they're at it... as to take away the feel of the former music of HP. |

Pulp were a very good band in their time their songs had really strong lyrics. Jaris Cocker is verry good and is very experienced in the music business, his father was also in a band. I think he will probably do a good job. I can't see them changing the classical feel of the films music too much, but they may tweak it a little for the action scenes maybe. I think it will add a new dimension to the films and why not make it appeal more to teens, it is about them after all.

Hmm, but I still want the music from the last three films to feature too, it just won't be the same if Hedwig's Theme doesn't feature, I hope John Williams is still a part of it.

Good God people Who Are You, Youre Obviously All American....
Jarvis Cocker Was The Lead Singer Of Pulp, A Wierd And Wonderful Band Around About 1996 ish, Jarvis Cocker Overshadowed Micheal Jacksons Performance At The Brits One Year, He Should Do Really Good For The Soundtrack. Altho I Think THE DARKNESS Would Do A Better Job
FRANZ FERDINAND are a really good indie/rock band out at the moment and i believe dan is a fan, you should really listen to their music its good. i heard over a week ago in THE SUN that FRANZ might actually be apperaing as the wierd sisters, and yes they are a load of blokes, but they were planning to dress up as women, it should be really good, and bring the modern feel jk planned for it, remember the castle and whatnot is a thousand years old, but its set in the 1990s, actually round about when JARVIS COCKER was releasing music with PULP

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |
