Last week, the SnitchSeeker news team got a chance to visit
Loot Crate headquarters for a sneak peek behind the scenes of the amazing work being done there. As one of the best quality fandom subscription services out there – shipping out 75,000 crates a day to “looters” worldwide – we eagerly sat down with some of their development team members to talk about their recently launched Wizarding World line, officially sanctioned by Warner Bros and J.K. Rowling’s team, the Blair Partnership. And, oh, the things we saw.
The line launched last year with an “I Want to Be a Wizard” themed box, which included some Fantastic Beasts items in the mix and art-deco graphics incorporated onto the box itself. The second box’s theme was “A Matter of Time” which, of course included a Time Turner (with a fabric cord instead of a metal chain, perfect for those with allergies) as well as a pocket watch TO DIE FOR, among other cool items.
The pocket watch is a great example of the unique, high-quality items to be found in this spectacular line. The Time Turner and watch alone are worth more than the price of the entire box, which again was a piece of art in and of itself with a giant Time Turner outlined in gold. And each item is canon (i.e., J.K. Rowling-approved) and specifically made with the fans top of mind. And while each individual crate has a theme, all of them have a connecting thread that tells a complete story. By the time you have three or four boxes, you will see a brilliant collection starting to form.
For those who missed out, SnitchSeeker did a couple of unboxing videos of the first two Wizarding World Loot Crate boxes, which can be watched here:
The crate currently for sale, but only until this Friday, March 3, is themed “Hogwarts House Pride.” When you sign up for a
Wizarding World subscription , you can designate the House you most identify with. (And we have to say, you “eagle-eyed” Ravenclaws out there will really appreciate that.)
The next crate’s theme will be revealed March 4. The LootCrate team showed us a few special reveals and products from this crate, as well as others down the line that are still in development (which we can’t talk about yet, but OMG), so we know for a fact that it contains items serious fans will covet. Trust us, we know what’s coming and would hate for you guys to miss out on some really cool, one-of-a-kind pieces. And it’s important to note that once a box has sold out, you cannot buy these limited edition, high quality collectibles anywhere else - not even through Warner Bros vendors and retailers.
Wizarding World crates are mailed to subscribers every two months. You can subscribe for yours, right here!
