The Sunday Mail has run an article today claiming that J.K.Rowling has secretly been chasing her Scottish roots.
Anthony Adolph, a family tree expert apparently began investigating her roots with the help of her Aunt, Marian Fox. Quote:
Anthony has traced Rowling's roots back to her ancestors in the early 19th century. He said: 'None appear to have been anything out of the ordinary. There would not seem to be anything to suggest that their descendant would become such a fantastic, imaginative writer.
'Then I uncovered this incredible Scottish doctor. His extraordinary life perhaps hints at the career of his extraordinary great-granddaughter."
Yesterday, Rowling's publicist said the author did not want to discuss her family tree.

That's quite cool, it's always nice to know where you come from isn't it. I don't know what you really look for thou when trying to find out how you get such an amazing author!! And what does a wonderful doctor have to do with it?

my aunt traced my grandfathers side of the family back to the 1700's, didnt come up with anything interesting tho..

Well I guess if she doesn't want to talk about her family tree, there is nothing wrong with that. I mean it is her family life and she is intitled to keep it private. I think it's neat that she's looking back into her history though, I always love to ask my parents about their lives when they were kids, and my grandparents, and all my family.

Well, I agree with JKR, If she does want to share her familie tree or not, that's her decision, we do not have the right to know about it. But it's good to know she wants to know more about her roots!!

Wasn't the Sunday Mail the one to report that Emma Watson had a boyfriend...? This story seems more believeable, but it's another of those personal issues that shouldn't be reported. A lot of people try to trace back their roots. My grandma did it all the way from the 14th century! Very neat  | |

thats really cool, I do alot of family research just because i find it intresting, its good to know where you come from, even if your not anything like your family. JK doesent have to tell us her family story, its a private thing, but hey im glad she is intrested, she is a really amazing person isnt she? I really hope she can go as far back as she can, and find them all!

celebrity's know its their life and its public. thier privacy becomes sacred because its somthing that dosent happen often. but being a celebrity means being known to the public and thier life becomes public. they can choose to hide it, or use it, but either way it eventaully is known. it's all part of the deal, you get rich u get famous and u lose somthing in return. ( as u can hide and eventually end up on the show 'where are they now' for being secretive) it's a tough world ...
JkR has found some sort of way to continue her search of the mystery of life hehe in we all do it in some form.
