Default J.K.Rowling gives support to charity ball for Multiple Sclerosis

J.K.Rowling is to give her support in a fund raising attempt to benefit those who suffer with Multiple Sclerosis.

She has reportedly spent thousands of pounds hiring Powderham Castle where the black-tie masked charity ball will take place on November 1st 2004.

The author hosted a similar event back in 2002.

Quote:
Centre manager Vic Gibbins said: "When we opened, Joanne sent us a fairly large donation. When I heard she was going to be at the university, I wrote a letter and took it up there for somebody to give to her.

"I quickly had a letter back from her saying she would help us. We are delighted.

"Powderham is a super venue. This is our first ball so it's quite a big event for us."
Quote:
Organisers hope the black tie ball at the castle, near Exeter, next Monday will raise about £5,000 for the South West MS Centre at Clyst Heath in the city, which provides treatments from physiotherapy to acupuncture for up to 300 people.

Tickets cost £45 per person - contact the MS centre on 01392 447411 for further enquiries/purchases.

First post, huzzah..

Anyway, that's rather cool of her, all the donations to MS charities and such. If only all people would be and could be so generous....she's obvioulsy a rather caring, giving person. How nice.

If I remember correctly her Mum had MS so I believe it is one of her main charities. Jo has helped many charities over the years and MS is a worthy one for sure. She had a big heart and it shows.

Moo Spork? SPORKY SPORKY!!

I'm so glad she's doing this for MS. I know too many people that suffer from it everyday and it is horrible!! If I had the money that would be the first thing I donate to!!!
