In reference to the rumour that Jo is writing a detective novel a spokeswoman for Jo has said, "We do not have a definite plan of what her next project is yet.” J.K.Rowling's literary agent, Christopher Little, refused to comment.
As if more proof that this rumour is untrue was needed, Scottish crime writer Ian Rankin has stated in a new interview that; Quote:
"This is a joke that got out of hand," said Rankin, describing how the remark was made on stage during the course of a festival event.
"There were 600 people in the audience, and only one person didn't laugh," he added.

I imagine it was funnier in live action than words. However the humour comes from the fact that Rankin is a crime writer himself, so most in the audience would've realised it was a joke. Quote:
