AbeBooks, the world’s largest online bookstore, researched their sales data from the past year to determine which author sold the most books for over $500 last year.
J.K. Rowling was No. 1 on the list, beating out Phillip Pullman, Stephen King, Dickens, Shakespeare and many more. Quote:
Ongoing demand for signed Harry Potter books means Rowling tops the index although few first editions of her debut book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, reach the market. An autographed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sold for $5,500 just after its release last July.
