US publisher, Scholastic, announced today that Monday, July 30, will mark the start of a new sweepstakes for the Harry Potter readers. The contest is called
J.K. Rowling and the Open Book Sweepstakes. Winners will receive a pair of tickets to hear Rowling read from the final book,
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan. The one thousand lucky winners will also get to hear Rowling answer questions about the boy wizard and if they are twice charmed, they may be able to have Rowling sign their copy of the seventh book. The Carnegie Hall event will be held on Friday, October 19 at 7 PM.

Fans aged 7 and over can enter by printing and completing a form available at
Scholastic.com. They may also print their name, address and phone number on a sheet of paper and mail it to Scholastic, Attn: J.K. Rowling and the Open Book Tour Sweepstakes, 557 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10012. Entries must be received by Aug. 31, and each person may enter only once. Winners under 18 must bring a parent or legal guardian, and no one under 7 will be admitted. Winners will be chosen and notified on or about Sept. 14.
