[img]http://www.snitchseeker.com/images/news/hagrid_80.jpg' align='middle'> Is Mike Newell mad? - Summary:
Robbie Coltrane thinks the new Potter director may be a little mad Article:
Thanks to Wizardnews Quote: Preparation for filming has already started on the fourth Harry Potter movie 'The Goblet of Fire' with 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' director Mike Newell taking charge.
We caught up with Robbie Coltrane who plays larger-than-life Hagrid. He told us that he thinks Mike Newell must be a little bit crazy:
"I think you must be mad to even think about taking it on as it's 24 hours a day for two years, really."
"The actual filming may only take six months but there is prepping and editing - there's all that stuff - it's a huge undertaking for anybody!"
"It'll take me a while to beat him down to do exactly what I say, like I did with the other two, but it will happen!"
Robbie thinks that his character, who is set to fall in love in the next film, is popular with fans because he is the strong silent type:
"People like big, silent men that are on your side - everybody wants someone like that!"
"I would like that, it's not just kids. I would like a 8ft 6 pal who would sort out people who were bad and a threat to my children and stuff - I would love that!"
'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' will be out on 18 November 2005. BBC 1 Radio |

| Uh..that's cool. Robbie Coltrane is cool. I like that interview thing. I hope Mike Newell is at least a little mad because everyone who likes Harry Potter should be a little mad. And I mean that in a good way haha! |

*Putting 18th November 2005 in my diary*
Wow, thats quick actually considering COS came out in 2002 and POA in 2004.
So that will be 2 HP movies in 2 years - awesome!!
JK better get her quill working and get book 6 published before those kids grow up too quickly and before the film crew start chasing her for an update! hehe.
I love Robbie, he's so funny.
Im surprised it's only going to take 6 months for filming too - large book like that! It better be a three hour film thats all I can say!

Being a little crazy is a good thing. I know a director must become obsessed with a film like Harry Potter after awhile, so I hope he stays healthy under all of that load.

I really like Coltrane's sense of humor. But I do have to say from what I read it takes alot from these directors. For two years from morning til night it is Harry Potter. It would take a strong actor so I hope Mike Newell holds up to the test and makes GOF fabulous, or at least better than POA.

I can't wait until the next movie. I really thought POA was a step up from the other two. Let's hope Newell does a good job!
*whispers* Here's hoping for some more Ron and Hermioneness!

Oh wonderful - hope you had a great time!
I agree with you Chele, I really hope they don't miss too much out because book four is so involved, especially with the trials - will be very interesting to see how he pulls it off, I wish him luck.
