I would love a first edition of the books, but too much.

I'd love a first edition of the Harry Potter books, but I think it'd be sooo much trouble to keep them. Like, in the article, the books are selling for about 15, 000$ US to 75, 000$, but they're also in mint condition. How hard would it be to actually read the book when u have to keep it perfect? It'd be cool to have them, but they'd just end up sitting on the shelf...
