Post Interview with Harry and the Potters

The Boston Herald has a new interview with Harry and the Potters, the band that sing songs about the book series, in which they discuss how they formed and what it's like to play shows.

Quote:
"It was born out of necessity,'' 17-year-old Joe said. "That morning we took out the first Harry Potter book and reread passages and started writing songs. We wrote eight songs that morning. And we played them that afternoon. "Pretty badly,'' he added with a giggle.
Quote:
"We've played lots of shows in lots of different places, but part of the reason we wanted to start a band related to books was to play rock shows in libraries,'' Joe said. "The juxtaposition of libraries and loud music is awesome. Libraries are quiet places usually and when you have a rock show there, you are breaking the rules. That is what rock is about.''
Quote:
He introduced Paul, who makes vaccines for a biotech company in Cambridge - "He saves the world by day, and he's a rock star by night,'' said Joe - to the Potter phenom.
Quote:
"We have fun with rock music and its ideals, we stick it to the man! Like in the fifth Harry Potter book,'' he explained. "Harry starts this organization against the administration and he gets all his friends together, and they are all anti-authority and they start learning for themselves, and standing up for what's right. It's very rock 'n' roll.''
The entire interview can be read here.
