| | |  Indian court rejects Harry Potter copyright petition
Delhi High Court has rejected a petition from J.K.Rowling & W.B. in regards to copyright infringement in relation to FD Block Puja in Salt lake who created a Hogwarts replica for a festival. The court has allowed the group to use said creation until October 26th, when the festivities end. Quote:
"The court has given us permission to use the Pandal (the structure) and whatever has been made till the 26th of October, no compensation has been directed to be paid," the community's lawyer, Soumitra Ghose Chaudhuri told Reuters.
"The case has been disposed of," he added.
Quote:
"We are quite overjoyed with the court's order," said Santanu Biswas, a leading community member.
Their defence was that the event was in the public interest and that no profit was being made. | |

I'm happy for the Indian fans actually. It's clearly innocent, and if it's non-profit... I don't have a problem with it.
Honestly, I think Rowling should center her attention on those who release "fake" HP translations.

But also, hasn't (and ok, this is totaly spelled wrong, but......)Navaratri endded? Or something? I know some Hindu festival has started and a Muslim one has enddd, so I can kinda see the point of rejecting it............

Navaratri have just started.
I think ... I am not in India so it is hard to keep up.
Well. I am happy for people who can see this and stuff, but I still think they should have asked. I am sure they would have gotten the permission.
