CGSociety has a fascinating look into the various special effects companies that worked on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, going into specific detail on how sets and creatures were created by Double Negative (Grawp, Hall of Prophecies, Veil Room, Hogwarts exterior, Death Eaters, Patronus spells), Moving Picture Company (Weasley fireworks, final battle sequence, Voldemort’s nose), Industrial Light and Magic (Dementors, Thestrals, Harry’s patronus), and Framestore CFC (centaurs, Kreacher, Fawkes and the Howler).
According to Paul Franklin, visual effects supervisor at Double Negative, the Hall of Prophecies set was the most detailed: Quote:
It’s the first time a fully digital set was used in a Harry Potter film.
The only people who really believe in the magic of the Harry Potter world are the visual effects people who create it. We spend all day thinking how would this work, how would that work. Working on this film was fantastic.
Order of the Phoenix’s visual effects supervisor Tim Burke, who received an Oscar nomination for Prisoner of Azkaban, will work on Half-Blood Prince and, according CGSociety: Quote:
Bids are in for the visual effects work and studios are eagerly waiting to see who conjures up the next magical effects.

WOW!!! Yea!!! I LOVED the sets!!! I liked the Dep. Of Mysterys most...the entrance hall to the ministry i actually thought looked darkner and more evil than what I imagined...kindof like what it would look like after Voldy took over...but i guess it had to be a bit dark cuz the ministry was agenst harry at that point...er...the room of requierments was also awsome!!! and did they also do the thesrals? cuz thouse were the BeST!!! RIGHT ON!
