The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has an article about how ' Half-Blood Prince' will be marketed. While much of the information is old, there are new snippets here and there. Quote:
Ms. Rowling and London-based Bloomsbury PLC are ignoring traditional marketing except for a few modest efforts, such as buying space on 2,000 buses across the U.K. to promote the book.

A Scholastic spokeswoman says the Bloomsbury contest is totally separate. "They do their thing, we do our thing, and that's how it has always been," she says. Scholastic, she adds, asked Ms. Rowling to conduct two interviews with American reporters. "What we wanted was the interviews, and that's what we asked of Ms. Rowling in our proposal."

Having JK give interviews, although tiresome for her, would deeply satisfy us hungry fans, I think. I mean, how many adverts to you see which advert for a book which is coming out. This has got to be the largest phenomenon ever in the book industry.

She is doing interviews. 2 with site owners, one with a TV presenter, one with a newspaper reporter and one with 70 cub reporters. I think that's enough considering she's got a family to look after, especially young Mackenzie. And we have regular contact with her anyway through her site. She does more for her fans than any other author I know.

Yes, considering the humungous amount of fans she has awaiting. But I bet it's a really deep satisfaction for her to know that her idea was appreciated through the number of fans she has brought together.

woooh My Mum went to a book shop to buy a new book and they gave her a plastic bag with harry potter on it i made her keep it so i could have it Sad I know But i was like "hey I want a peice of the History" my mum just laughed at me!!!
I cant wait to see harry things popping up over the place Oh my God Im so excited

Yeah, the media is evil... or I heard Bloomsbury paid the Belgians to say that about the Dutch Prime Minister...you just can't pay for publicity like that... or Katie Couric has been brainwashed... or Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah but I prefer the brain washing the media one best...
