| | | House Elves Seen at the Quidditch World Cup
The omission of the house elf plot in the 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' movie was quite controversial, but it seems that if you have sharp eyes there is still a chance to see them on the DVD. Screencaps have appeared online of a scene from the Quidditch World Cup (6 minutes and 25 seconds into the movie) that show two house elves sharing a glance as they ride past each other on camels. You may view them here and here.
Thanks to The Leaky Cauldron for the pics! |

The House Elves are incredibly cute I think. I'm glad they got some sort of placement in this movie... somewhere.

I love when sight gags like that pop up in films. Good to see the elfs weren't completely forgotten. Though to be honest, I wasn't very upset about their omission. There was simply too much to do in the films and the elfs needed to be left out.

i watched HP4 tonight and i saw them!!!!!!!! yay, it only took me 3 times of watching it and SS for me to see them, then i went back and paused it on them, and they're all blurry and funny looking. oh, and something else i noticed, and i dont' know where to put this, in GoF, at i think 31:40 into the movie, Dumbly waves his hand and the lights go down. that proves, i think wrongly, that magic can be performed without a wand. that' wrong, isn't it? didn't one, or more, of the books say something about wandless magic? or JKR said it can't happen? something, but he did in the movie.
where is the GoF mistakes thread? cuz after watching it tonight i have lots of mistakes to say.

I don't care how long the movies would be, they need to leave more of the storylines in. They're probably sorry when some of those story lines are going to be needed later on!

Very neat. I saw the pictures. I am going to have to re-watch the movie to see it. I'll be sure to look closer for them. Very neat.

hmm, time for new batteries in the DVD player remote...I see lots of screen-by-screen viewing in my future....must find house elves
I was rather upset that the S.P.E.W subplot was omitted. Admittedly, a lot of that feeling stems from being a knitter who was desperate to see wonky made-by-Hermione hats...
