Highlights from cast fan panel chats at Harry Potter Home Entertainment Celebration
SnitchSeeker, as mentioned earlier, was in Orlando this past weekend for the Harry Potter Home Entertainment Celebration, including Saturday evening's red carpet extravaganza (which we will have full coverage of on Monday, including exclusive interviews with Rupert Grint, James and Oliver Phelps, Evanna Lynch, and many more). This is the first of several stories on our coverage of the events, including many new interviews, both on the carpet and one-on-one sessions with David Yates, Warwick Davis, and Jessie Cave, highlights from Friday's press conference.
First up are highlights from a couple of the fan panel discussions with the Harry Potter cast on Saturday afternoon. The Q&A sessions ran on both Saturday and today, and included Rupert Grint, James and Oliver Phelps, Domhnall Gleeson, and Mark Williams in one Weasley-centric session; and a second with Evanna Lynch, Katie Leung, Alfie Enoch, and Devon Murray. For those who were keeping an eye on our Twitter this weekend, this is no surprise; more on what the cast revealed about their Patronuses, favourite sets, getting cast, and much more, can be read below.
• Katie said she was very calm when she was told she got the Cho role, but the excitement rose; Evanna was shopping when she found out.
• Devon admitted that he and Matt Lewis were both up for Seamus and Neville, & Heyman told him he got the role when he was on set; Devon admitted that due to his dyslexia he hadn't read the HP books when auditioning & thought Harry was the director.
• Evanna said in the final battle courtyard scene, Luna was meant to run to Neville's side as they were sorta together, but thought against it
• In terms of Hogwarts houses, Evanna and Alfie would be Gryffindor, Katie in Ravenclaw, & Devon in Slytherin (though he admitted he'd like to be in Gryffindor if he could choose)
• Patronuses the actors think they would best associate with: Evanna would want a unicorn or koala, Alfie a fox, Devon a horse, and Katie a snow leapord
Rupert Grint, James and Oliver Phelps, Domhnall Gleeson, Mark Williams:
• Rupert said the first Harry Potter movie, Sorcerer's Stone, was his favourite
• Hogwarts Houses the actors think would best fit them: James sorted in Hufflepuff, Oliver in Gryffindor, and Mark will wait till he gets to Pottermore for his house
• Spells/magic they would like to cast or have the power to: Rupert wanted a flying car, But Mark said it's his car and he can't have it, and told Rupert he was grounded
• Favourite Harry Potter merchandise: Domhnall loved the Moody toy, and broke the legs to annoy his father (Brendan Gleeson, who played Mad Eye Moody in the films); James and Oliver loved the video games
• Rupert, when asked, did manage to rap three versus of the song he recorded to get the role of Ron Weasley, including a bit about being 4'9"
• Rupert loves the every flavour beans as his favourite Harry Potter sweet, even the dirt flavoured one - he even admitted he ate dirt as a kid
• Rupert said he loved filming the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 epilogue because he loved wearing the fat suit
• Scenes they wish were filmed: the Weasley garden degnoming for James and Oliver; getting to play around with the gnomes in the garden for Mark; and Dumbledore's funeral for Domhnall
• Rupert's opinion of when he heard J.K. Rowling considered killing Ron: he was hopeful at first to get a death scene, but was glad to survive
• Their favourite characters besides their own: Rupert - Snape, Domhnall - Luna, Mark - Bellatrix (because she's mad), Oliver - Kreacher, James - Dobby
• On joining his fellow Harry Potter costars on Twitter, Rupert did say maybe, and saw it as a great way to interact with fans
• Their favourite Harry Potter sets: Rupert loved the chess set in Sorcerer's Stone; James and Oliver of course loved their joke shop; and Mark adored the Ministry of Magic
• Patronuses: Mark- his real and pretend ginger family, James - watching Oliver's soccer team lose, Oliver - a panda
• James said filming George's ear loss scene was emotionally charged one, when asked
• Domhnall admitted that when he visited the set of one of the earlier film to see his father, he was asked to play a Weasley twin double, given his long red hair
• Oliver Phelps opinion of Snape, when asked by a fan about the generakl panel's thought of the character: Oliver said he was heroic in doing anything for Lily to save Harry

I was glued to my twitter feed on Saturday! Loved all the tidbits being shared :3 I had a fan panel today with Mark, Domhnall, George Harris, and Warwick. Such a funny batch of guys. Mentions of nuts and the joke that Dan couldn't get women's bras off, haha. Poor children that didn't know what was going on.
