Hermione rocks in new PoA game - Summary:
Hermione Granger shows some real girl power in the newest game Article:
Thanks to Wizardnews Quote: Girl Power comes to Hogwarts in the new Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban video game.
The Electronic Arts title, for all consoles and PC, allows gamers for the first time to play Hermione and Ron as well as Harry. And Hermione is pretty handy throughout the game. Like the movie, Harry and Co. find themselves back at school for their third year with dark Dementors everywhere searching for Sirius Black after his breakout from the wizard prison Azkaban.
Some scenes draw straight from the movie, but the majority of the game has Harry, Hermione and Ron in search of spells needed along the way. And that involves a lot of puzzle-solving through the bowels of Hogwarts.
As the game progresses, each of the characters learns new spells and the gamer has to choose between them at stops. Other times the game forces you to go with one character rather than the others - Hermione, for example, can slip into small spaces.
Switching between characters is done by pressing a button.
Potter fans will also enjoy flying Buckbeak the Hippogriff, which allows you to explore the school grounds from the air.
The game is simple to play and looks good, although the load time on the PlayStation version is frustrating. It is a single-player challenge, although there are two- and four-player mini-games, some of which need the EyeToy camera accessory in the PlayStation version.
Prisoner of Azkaban, EA's fourth Potter title, is rated E for Everyone and game designers have done a good job offering hints on getting past obstacles. Still, younger gamers may need some help at a few stages while the older player may find the game lacks challenge. | Canada News |

| i have the game in PS2 and i agree that the loading time is horrid. but the other 2 had that too. and i can't believe you don't play quidditch! i was so disappointed with that. it is really cool to play as ron and hermione.the different tasksand quests were challenging and all the new spells are great. the graphics are really good too. but i think i would sacrifice them for shorter loading times.
all in all i was happy with it. but they better have quidditch in the next one... oh wait, there's no quidditch in GOF. man!!! |

| Hermione has a lot of fun spells, the most spells out of the 3 playable characters actually. Glacious, Reparo, Flipendo, Expelliarmus, and Snuffilors. She can also crawl under small spaces, which Ron and Harry can't. |

| Game Ron isn't as bad as movie Ron, atleast he has 'The Weasley touch' Although I noticed that all three are the same size but only Hermione can crawl through the spaces. I was let down that Game Hermione was better then Game Harry, very odd. |

| Hermione has a lot of good spells, I like the statue one and the glacious. Very fun. Ron..I used him all time to for searching bookcases! And well, Harry...yeah, he was just there for the patronus and jumping. All in all...they all serve their purposes, but Hermione is by far the best. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Nargles Third | No she doesn't wear pink. I actually looked up to her in the game. I love one part when Harry and Ron were calling Hermione from the Common Room one morning and she wakes up her hair a mess and wearing her robes! LOL! Who wears their robes to bed? I guess they weren't allowed to show Hermione in a 'nightgown' cuz parents would get all suspicious 'bout it.. |

| ^lol! yeah, the game is awesome my brother and i were so addicted and couldnt stop playing .. its a bit more challenging than the previous ones we had to work together to figure things out haha
whenever we could switch the characters and we didnt really need to use a specific one, i would always take hermione and my brother would just be like "why, is it just cuz shes a girl?"

Hogwarts RPG Name: Rebecca Parker Second Year | I love Hermione in the PoA game! She has very cool spells, like the one to turn the books into rats. The snuffliators I think it is. I am so glad you get to play as Hermione in this! |
