| | |  'HBP' voted best Scottish children’s book
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince won the Royal Mail Award for Scottish Children’s Books yesterday in a vote by 3,000 kids aged eight to 12. J.K. Rowling was unable to attend the award ceremony (she’s a little busy at the moment  ) but had the following to say about receiving the honor: Quote:
Thank you so much for this award. I'm sure any writer will agree that it's always reassuring to receive recognition for your work, but it's particularly meaningful when the decision has been made by the readers themselves.
To them, I'm enormously grateful and delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure.
I'm sorry I am unable to receive this award in person today, but I currently have my head down writing the final book, which is coming along nicely.

I'm very happy for her, but ages eight to twelve? Children's book? Hmm... Half Blood Prince always seemed to me like it was for teenagers and up. It just seemed quite adult, what with the snogging and also with the death. Who knows, mabey thats just me.
