| | | HBP to be a record-breaker The Daily Mirror today reports that ' Half-Blood Prince' is likely to be a record-breaker.
The sixth Potter novel looks set to beat the 2003 Order of the Phoenix's record-breaking five million copies sold worldwide in 24 hours, when it is finally released on July 16th. Quote:
Last month Tesco.com was at one stage handling one order every 53 seconds.
The online store is taking 350 pre-publication orders a day - with a quarter of all buyers reserving more than one copy.
And Tesco bosses predict daily orders will double in the run-up to July 16 and may even reach 100,000 - double that of the fifth book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Quote:
A spokesman for Amazon.co.uk said: "We've already had about 200,000 pre-orders and there are still five weeks to go.
"We took 420,000 pre-orders of the fifth book so we're expecting a very busy month ahead."
Quote:
Tesco.com director, John Paul O'Reilly, said: "The magic is definitely still there for Potter fans, demand is only getting stronger each year. We are expecting the sixth book to break all records."
Quote:
A spokeswoman for publisher Bloomsbury said: "We never reveal our print run as it is commercially sensitive."

I am definately a newer Potter fan, who started reading them last year about this time. I have pre-ordered HBP, which is the first book my family has done that with in this series. Let me tell you I am going to get my hands on it and not let go until I finish.

Of course it will! More and more people become HP fans over the course of two years, therefore, so will the number of books bought!

| The number of Harry Potter fans continues to grow every year, possibly every day. It's no surprise that the number of copies sold continues to grow as well. Just another reminder of how big HP really is.
