Well it might be... The book comes out in what 3 months-ish? They may have cpoies already... but knowing what computers do today they could have made a fake on and stuck it on GoF or OotP... *shrugs*

It looks like a logical size for the book to be. But with different camera angles you can create magic(pun intended).

I wish they could give us all of the angles of it. But then again, it could be fake.

I tell you what, it's logical, but didn't JKR say she *just* sent the last edits in? Isn't it a little early to have an accurate picture? That said though, this could be how the cover looks around the book and what they believe the book to be in size...

i reckon its a fake. Look at the bk... in all of the uk potter books, the back is different from the front! on this one u can see its the same... but who knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She may have just sent in the last edits, but the length was already confirmed as 608 (UK) and 627 (US) Tao, so how can her edits alter that?

Good point, the flames continue in the exact same angle on the back. But that's because the back cover is purposely not being revealed because it apparently containers spoilers. So, I wouldn't put that down as making it suspicious.

I actually said that wrong... I meant that they wouldn't have a finished product out when she just sent in the last edits, but since they know how long the book would be this is probably how they view it to look with the cover on it and all. But that being the actual book itself probably isn't right... just what they picture it to be.

Although we certainly don't know what the edits are. A big enough one could actually alter the size. After all, her editors wanted her to cut out the troll scene in PS/SS and that would've been quite a few pages... had she listened.

The troll scene was what made them friends! Stupid editors!

I know! That's why JKR insisted it be in there. Imagine if they would've insisted it not being in there... *shudders*

Editors don't know what the heck goes on with the story and what she has in mind for future books. But if this book isn't advertized by the main publishers I will disregard it.

The book is genuine, the cover, it's just the size that's debatable.

Possibly a marketing stragey. If you see the book, you'll want the book. Granted, I'm sure everyone HP fan in the world isn't going to be influenced because they've either already pre-ordered it or are going at midnight to get the book, but you can't fault them for trying. lol

Although I must say, imo, the book doesn't look to be the size of something that would fall in between GoF and OotP. It actually looks a bit smaller than GoF, but that's a bit hard to determine with it being shown that way...

Haha. Obviously I was having a brain fart at that moment! I had it in my head that GoF was smaller. Although I'm not sure 100 pages - give or take - would make much of a difference...

I should go through my book collection and find one with (close to) the same amount of pages and compare it... And yes, I have nothing better to do. lol

I don't know what people care about the books size...you couldn't just slip a copy of the cover on another book say like Gone with the Wind...besides it looks faked as in computer made, and lastly what if it's the Large Type edition for the people with bad sight...c'mon just less than a hundred day's people...go hate Cho or something...speculate about Lily on the cover...LOL.

its probaly real but only special people get to see it early cuz it looks real enough to me and isnt JK aleady done with the book

All I can say is if Scholastic's going to print 10.8 million copies by July 17th they had better started the printing. That's going to be the first printing, I forget what Bloomsbury's first printing is but I know it's in the millions also. So surely they have started right!
