Previously 'secrets' that were to be revealed in ' Half-Blood Prince' where hinted at through a leaflet. Bloomsbury and Rowling's agent, Christopher Little have all responded saying this information is unofficial. Quote: Christopher Little Agency: "They can't have seen a copy, so it must be in their imagination."
Quote: Bloomsbury: "As far as we are aware Scholastic have not released any information about the book, so I think as with last time, this is one of many possible scams to come between now and July with people purporting to have advance information about the book."

"Scholastic has provided us with no facts about the contents to the new book." The email went on to say the info was gleaned from fan info on the Web.

This news doesn't mean to say these things WON'T happen, just that it's not necessarily going to happen in the next book.
However, Rowling has confirmed that Harry will have more romances in HBP.

I really want to see what the huge thing to be releaved about Lily Potter is. Guess I just gotta wait until July 16th . . . that's only 13 days after my birthday! That's kinda bad though; it means I gotta buy it with the money I got for my b-day.

You know, in a way, I'm relieved. Sure, I would love to learn more about Snape, but at this point in time, I can't think of a logical reason why JKR would tell us why Dumbledore trusts Snape before the 7th book without killing Snape off. If Snape dies, I'm going to cry.

I don't mind the wait. But i am glad they're trying to put rumors to rest.. rumors are bad.. besides waiting w/o knowing what will happen makes it more enjoyable when you finally read it!

I feel so sorry for the person who wrote the initial summary. It wouldn't take much to go from reading something as speculation to printing it as fact, without checking the sources first. I really do not believe that this was a deliberate attempt to fool us, and I suspect whoever was behind it currently has a glowing red face that they're trying to hide under a blanket somewhere. They deserve a slap on the wrist, but nothing more.
