Lol I knew that the key wasn't important!! Although it's a bit sad that it's not. . . Just when you think we have a clue, it gets wisked away from you. . . Ahh, well, at least Ottery now has his sock drawer key. <3
HBP key is only a 'visual element' 
Just stopping in to say I was one of those who thought the key meant something!
