| | | HBP: Is the waiting easier? The Dayton Daily News yesterday published a segment about the latest Harry Potter book, ' Half-Blood Prince', speculating that the wait this time was slightly easier due to a certain maturity in the fans. Quote:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is coming soon — July 16 — and although we're all very excited, it's interesting to note that we're not going nuts this time out. Used to be that each new delay of each new Harry Potter was met with dismay, teeth-gnashing, offers of free baby-sitting for Rowling and her young family (how dare she make babies while we're waiting for more Harry!!). These days, however, we're all older and wiser and most of us have begun to realize that the sooner the books are released, the sooner the story will end.
So we'll wait.
The rest of the article can be read here.

I totally agree with that. And also it's due to exams, I'm too busy stressing about them to be excited XD

True that...That has been mine line for agesss. The faster they come, the faster the end. I don't want it to end, and I don't want it to be realised on July 16th. I have a Forensic Seminar that I want to go to and it's all day. Though, I could get it during lunch.

And I will have to agree with the article. I am a wee bit more patient for HPB than I was for OOTP. Oh well... we've all grown up! *sniff*

that was exactly what i was thinking! boohoo...but the space between OoTP and HBP is less compared to GoF and OoTP..

But of course HP is lying at the back of my mind. To me the exams are the obstacles and HP is the reward at the end. My exams are taking my mind off it for the moment and I don't know if thats good or bad. Of course we are all maturing and I'm sure that many other HP fans were already mature when they started reading them. Harry Potter isnt only for us kids or teens you know. Aint I right! |

It still seems like a long way off, so it's not to difficult to wait for it. Like *Snivellus* said, when it gets really close, that's when it's going to be hard to wait for. I can just imagine myself the week of July 16th. I'll be a jumble of nerves and excitement.

It's still more than a month away, but this year is going really quick, so far. So, the release day will probably be here before we know it.

I'm about as impatient as ever *shrugs* but I have no exams to take my mind off it. Also, I'm terrible at waiting for anything!

the easiest way for me is that i am rereading all of the books till the hbp comes out that way it will refresh my mind on what has happend and what is yet to come. i think it will be sad for me though because i may soon have to find a new hobbie after the hp series is over which sucks

i never really freaked out at Jo before cause i didn't want to add any more pressure or just be a complete jerk too. (not that me as one person would add pressure to Jo) even though i have finals coming up i never really stress about those either until the night before.

I'll be on all day July 16th and 17th. I plan to have mine read by 6AM. And I'm not kidding.
My A Levels are stopping me from getting impatient. They're a huge hurdle I have to climb before I can even think about getting excited about HBP. However when I finish on June 27th, I just know I'll start buzzing, thinking about it. The last two weeks will be murder.

i agree that some people may be more mature than two years ago, but i have a count down clock on my screensaver and i'm checking it everyday...
It's kinda like waiting for the last star wars movie, you want it see the end, but when it's done, it is the end. I plan to savor it all i can, and then reread it!

The waiting is quite easy for me; in fact, I'm looking forward to the movie more so than the book. *laughs* But still, I can't wait to read the book when it comes out. I'm sure it'll be a great read.
