Arthur Levine and Barbara Marcus of Scholastic, the US HP publishers, were interviewed on CNN yesterday about the contents of ' Half-Blood Prince'.
They confirmed the prescence of a new character (McClaggan) that JK mentioned last year.
("I found the name McClaggan the other day, which I think is a great name. There is a McClaggan in book six because I thought that it is a surname that is too good to waste.")

ARTHUR LEVINE, EDITOR: I can't tell you that.

You know, I actually thought this was quite interesting. A lot of people scoffed at it and all, but I think it's giving some hints. Think about it. We know for certain that there will be a new MoM, so that question was asked *about* the new MoM. We know there is a possibility of a death in HBP, so that was asked. We don't know anything concerning R/Hr... so possibly hint? Was this a PR stunt? Are they giving us hints without really telling us they are?
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it's interesting. Normally news outlets such as these knows *nothing* of the books and assumes that the hero will get the girl and askes if it's going to be H/Hr. So either CNN knows their stuff, or these questions were given as a PR stunt...

who do you think the new minister will be marcella? do you think it will be somebody who is already a member of the ministry? the one thing we don't see too much in HP is politics i.ex. different parties, etc. Maybe the HBP is the new MoM!

That was funny they said nothing at all...i mean what kind of interview was that?
but atleast they kind of said that hermione and ron are gonna be together sort of.... it left me shaking my head in confusion really and im a ravenclaw thats not supose to happen believe me.....
