This was A bit by the pics of Poa we've seen..It talks a/b how much Rupert,Dan and Emma have grown

'A mysterious purple, double-decker London bus, an escpaed killer,a bespectacled boy wizard on the run-- Here's a sneek peek of the third visual helping of the hugely populay Harry Potter series. The Prisoner of Askaban is currently fliming in Britain and is set for release next spring. Daniel Radcliffe Reprieses his role as Harry, who, in this installment,is in his 3rd year at Hogwarts. (shows pic of R,D and E in SS and in Poa) Look how much they've grown! Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) was just 10 years old 4 years ago when the films started. The ytoung actors have sprouted into adults since the Sorcerer's Stone. Daniel even admits he may look too old to finish the trilogy, saying "I'll Probably get too spotty or tall." He's now 14 and shaving. See Prisoner of Askaban this Spring!'

Tell me what you think!

And to Hanna Mari, please do not flame like that. Sierramist726 didn't say that, so you have no right to call her a dolt. She got that piece of intormation off a news source. [/b][/quote]
Thanks also, Lauren

who ever said "They made such a big deal when Danile's voice broke and when he grew like 10 cm or something, who cares though? Cause I just had a growth spurt but you dont see me posted all over the paper do you?" I so agree i'm like realy short, like emma's height (i think so) and like i've just started Puberty and i dont see my self in the paper, realy i dont see anybody in the paper with an artica saying.......".......are today So-and-so has just started their period!!! YAY lets celibrate!!!" its so rude who they (poprotzy) is so "up in their face".

really, there are so many actors/actresses who play parts as people younger than themselves, and they look fine! i don't think i've ever come across someone who looked to old to play a part, no matter what. i mean, it's really no big deal

there are alot of twenty some year olds playing high schoolers so i really dont think age is that BIG of a deal...after all it is just a number. and i really would like to see Dan, Rupert, and Emma do all the movies (Wishful thinking i know ) but it was be so much more realistic.

Natalie Portman was about 19 when she played 14 year-old Queen Amidala in Star Wars Episode 2, so it isn't all that hard to do.

I understand your point, SpOiLeDnSaSsY. You were saying that the examples people are using are ones where the people playing younger characters have already gone through puberty and won't be going through any drastic changes while filming. And you're right, but I still don't think the age situation with the actors in Harry Potter is a huge problem (as of yet). I think that with the Harry Potter movies, fans have already gotten very attached to Dan, Rupert, and Emma and it would be hard for them to accept the movies with other people playing the main characters. So, I don't think die-hard fans of the movies will care that much if some of the actors look a bit older than the characters that they're playing. But what I'm trying to say is that I understood your point.

Okay!

That's true though. It wouldn't look right looking at the screen and seeing them as diffrent people. We have grown attatched to them being there. I wouldn't do anything drastic like stop watching the movies, but I would be disappointed. But somewhere down the line, it will be inevitable. They're gonna have to go.

Whoever made the comment about "i dont see why its so difficult to believe a 15 year old playing a 14 year old", you were so right. Lets see, Malissa Joan Heart played Clarissa forever! And then Sabrina the teenaged witch. She was like twenty when sabrina was in her senior year of high school. Or something like that. It's no big deal! So what If Daniel Radcliffe shaves, it happens! Emma probably started her period too, big woop. It happens! They are just getting older, like you, me, and everyone else in the world. We just notice it more because they are so famous. That happens with child stars. I personally wish that they would STAY as their characters, because......for me, if in a series of hit movies, an actor is changed out [and not because they died, poor dumbledore, that i dont mind] for another one, it seems cheap......fake......not worth the money. Like I'm getting played or used. Almost like they want me to believe that So-and-so is really Harry Potter, when in my mind frame, its Daniel Radcliffe. I hope I'm making sense here.
you have a big point!

I'll quote myself:

They have like 20-year-olds playing middle-school students on Disney Channel. I guess I just don't understand why it would be so unbelievable to have a 15-year-old (Dan's age in 2005) playing a 14-year-old...*

It's different. It really really is. You can make a 21 year old play a 19 year old on TV because they're pretty much in the same age range and they've already developed. Sarah Michelle Gellar did it for years on Buffy. She was like 21/22 when the show started and Buffy was only 16/17. But it is VERY difficult to pull off making a 16/17 year old play a 14 yeard old. (Tom Felton) He's going to look too too old for the part. Daniel Radcliffe might be okay because he's still in that age range. Only 15 when his character will be 14. Even then you can really notice in the movies that they don't look their age. If you watch CoS, and think to yourself how old these kids are suppossed to be, you'd never believe it. They don't look 12!!! Thye look 13/14 years old, how they really are. I just think it mught be harder to do then some people think.

It might not be a problem right now, but it definately will be in the future.
